Basic lighting
The base of the lighting:
The basic lighting brings light to the entire room and is,
as its name suggests, the basis of the lighting. When designing the lighting of
a room, it is important to focus first on the basic lighting. All other types
of lighting will then graft on this light base.
This lighting is obtained by means of a ceiling light, wall
sconces directing the light towards the ceiling or recessed spotlights. For
rooms whose surface is greater than 12m ², it is advisable to multiply the
number of light points to obtain a uniform illumination over the entire volume.
Our advice:
For successful basic
lighting, opt for LED bulbs with a power output greater than 7W (75W
equivalent) with an angle greater than 120 °. As soon as the room exceeds 12 /
15m², it is better to multiply the number of light points to avoid having to
install a single source too powerful.
Once basic lighting is complete, you can switch to
functional, decorative or accent lighting.
Consumption:
Amount of energy consumed or used by an electrical
appliance. Consumption is expressed in Watts (W). Example a 10W LED consumes
10W per hour.
Controller:
The electric box controlled by remote control to change the
color and intensity of an RGB LED (multicolored).
Base:
The base of the bulb fixing on the electric socket. There are
mainly E (screw-in), B (bayonet), G (pines) and GU (pins).
Lifetime:
Number of hours during which the LED will illuminate without
deterioration due to wear.
Downlight:
Type of LED recessed spot to be installed in false ceilings.
The installation of a downlight allows harmonious lighting directly from the
ceiling.
Dimmable:
Term characterizing the compatibility of a bulb with a
dimmer. With a light bulb or a dimmable spot, it is possible to adjust the
light intensity via a dimmer.
